Vlog Episode 8.4 - Even the Sky is Not The Limit
If you’ve been following this series you’ve realized that the first three episodes are about our 3 most common reasons for not finding a solution: we blame someone, we hold onto our assumptions, or we think the whole thing is just too complex to deal with. But what if we don’t have a problem? What if “everything is awesome” as the Legos would have us believe. Well, that too can be improved.
What TOC shows us when we practice the thinking processes is that “problems” aren’t any different than “situations.” We may use two different words, but those words have more to do with us and our perceptions than they do with the reality of whats happening.
So let’s say your business is doing well. You’re making plenty of profit, you’re treating lots of patient who are all doing well, and everyone is happy. Great! So why not treat twice as many people? Why not treat them faster so you can get more people through treatment?
No matter what the current situation, the same understanding that TOC gives us to fix problems can be used. Problems aren’t best thought of as problems, but as undesirable effects. And any current situation in which you can imagine an improvement (and who can’t?) can be seen as an undesired effect. No matter what your situation, you can use TOC to improve it. Give it a try.
